Greetings from Cluj-Napoca.
Summer seems to be somewhat busy here in Transylvania: nine scheduled meetings in three locations weekly, visitors who are able to come help us with outreach only during school-holidays, children's and evangelistic campaigns, plus three separate camps add up to many opportunities for lives to be impacted for eternity.
Carrie and her team of 10 adult and 3 junior /teen leaders took 44 children to camp in a relatively rustic location last month... outhouses and though the girls were able to sleep in the on-site building the guys all had to sleep in tents. Guess that may be why it is called summer camp? The children had a great time in the Lord. Loads of fun-filled physical activities: water games, swimming(wading and belly-flopping really) in the river, campfires, and different sports. Plus Holy Ghost led services to keep them on the right track. It is great to enable them to get a break from their everyday environment and to have them spend time in a God-filled environment. I believe these times have helped shape them for the future and enable them to go forward for the Lord. The one-on- one time spent between kids and leaders will stay with them through the years. There were many late night talks about what the Lord is doing in their lives and times of group/team prayer to encourage every child. It is a blessing seeing them grow, and when they returned, many to unchristian homes, they were stronger in the Lord and we are thanking Him that they can continue to stand for Jesus and God's Kingdom here in Transylvania.
No new births at camp: all attendees were children who regularly attend our services at Pata Rat, Lunca Mures, Zorilor, or in a sister church outreach in Reghin.
Atti, Corina, and Andrei took 10 teens from the Lunca Mures church on a Romanian ride-about for several days. Some of the teens had never been more than a few miles from home and were amazed at the beauty & diversity that God has created in their own country. Having ten teens from the village is a break-through - in the past not that many parents would trust us to take their children away from home! Faithfullness is making a difference in the lives of many.
Forty-seven have prayed to receive Jesus through outreaches in the last few weeks. . Please pray with us and thank God that more hearts are opening up and we'll see many saved and healed in the 3-day campaign the end of this month in Lunca Mures.
We are proclaiming that " Jesus is Lord in Transylvania!"
In His Love, Rufus & Dee Whynot
